Parent Information Meeting
There will be an information meeting introducing you to the ins and outs of the NOAH Volleyball program. This meeting is NOT mandatory, but is especially beneficial to families who are new to the program as we will discuss the upcoming season, including the clinics and tryouts. Also, we will be introducing our new Head Volleyball Coach, Jessica Pancratz. Jessica will be overseeing all three of our teams to help streamline the program. Our coaching staff will work closely with Jessica to best help our players from Junior High on up to Varsity. We will offer this meeting twice; once at the beginning of the first Junior High clinic (THURSDAY, MAY 18th at 7:00p.m.) and once at the beginning of the first High School clinic (FRIDAY, MAY 19th at 4p.m.).
Commitment: Once teams are selected, practices will be held at Parkview Baptist Church (61st/Sheridan) after July 4th, games begin the first week of August, and our end of season Nationals tournament will take place in Springfield, MO on October 19th-21st.
Again, we will be utilizing the TeamApp for managing practice and game schedules. For those of you who are new, this is an app that can be downloaded for iPhone and Android devices. Once you have downloaded the app you will search for “noah volleyball”. Please select “clinic participant” then input the information requested. All requests, outside of “clinic participant” will be denied until teams are selected. At that time, you will be given access to your respective team by our administrative team. This will be the way the MAJORITY of our communication takes place. It is mandatory for all players and at least one parent to be connected through TeamApp. It was a life saver on more than one occasion last season. If you elect not to download the app, you can go online to teamapp.com for alternate access. The downside to using the website only is that you will not receive alerts/notifications on your phone in the event of a change or cancellation. It is also beneficial for the coach to be able to send a message to all players/parents from the app.
This is a weekly opportunity for ALL players in grades 6-12 (**age 12-18**) interested in trying out for the 2017 season to gain basic instruction and also to determine if volleyball is the right sport for the player.
If you are unsure about playing, please come out and give it a shot. There is a $5 fee per clinic. Also, it is imperative that prior to participation you completely fill out a liability release form and turn it in at the check-in table. This form requires a parent/guardian signature, so please come with your form filled out prior to clinics if you are driving yourself, or riding with a friend.
During these clinics you will have the opportunity to meet coaches, parents and players. This is a wonderfully welcoming group of people!
Weekly attendance at the clinics is highly recommended for those wanting to try out in June. Keep in mind that there are quite a few players that tryout for these teams and these clinics provide an excellent opportunity for coaches to become familiar with players leading up to tryouts.
CLINIC / TRY-OUT LOCATION: ** New Location** First Baptist Church Jenks 11701 S Elm St., Jenks, OK 74037
JUNIOR HIGH CLINICS will be on THURSDAYS from 7:00 p.m. – 8:30p.m. and HIGH SCHOOL CLINICS will be on FRIDAYS from 4p.m – 5:30p.m.
Clinics will START at the times listed above, so players should arrive at least 15 minutes prior to put on their shoes and begin warming up (don’t worry, if you are new, there will be many smiling faces who will explain what warming up looks like). Players should bring their own water bottle and knee pads if they have them. No low cut shirts or tanks please! NOAH rules prohibit spandex shorts (worn alone) and large tank tops with gaping arm holes that show sports bra. If you have any questions about this, please see me. Thank you for your cooperation in this matter.
