NOAH Girls Soccer Coaches

Hailey Steinmetz – Head Coach

Hailey is in her first season as coach of the NOAH girl’s soccer team. Hailey comes to NOAH after spending the previous year as a coach for the WSA Soccer Club in Tulsa, OK.

Hailey is a former Division I standout playing for Oral Roberts University and the University of Central Arkansas.  She also played four seasons as a semi professional player with Tulsa Spirit.

Hailey is originally from Claremore, Oklahoma and grew up playing for Tulsa Soccer Club.  She was an Oklahoma All-State selection and four-time All-District honoree, as well as 4A State Runner-up as a senior at Claremore Sequoyah High School.  She was also a four-time state qualifier in cross country and a starter for the basketball team.  Hailey was class salutatorian and member of the National Honor Society.

Hailey earned a Master’s in Business Administration degree from ORU and a Bachelor’s degree in Finance from UCA.  Outside of her coaching duties, she also works in the Wealth Management division of Bank of Oklahoma Financial and assists with WSA and Touch 360 training clinics.


Dean Johnson – Assistant Coach

This is Dean’s third year with NOAH Girls Soccer, having served as assistant coach the last two years.  He learned the game in Germany as a youth and has been involved in coaching both boys and girls teams at both the competitive and recreational level for 21 years.  Dean and his wife Sheila have 3 kids. He serves as the Operations and Multi Site Pastor for theChurch.at

Sports you play and played?

Mainly soccer, but I have participated in basketball and swimming also.

How many years have you played soccer?

I have played soccer for 9 years.

What got you started playing soccer?

It was my father’s favorite sport and I liked the snacks.

Favorite part about soccer?

Working and playing together as a team.

Do you know any of your stats?

Not really other than I’ve had fun, met some great people, and made some nice friends.

Do you want to play soccer in college?

Yes.  That would be fun.

How do you set your goals?

Dream big.  Compare your dreams to your past actions.  Work harder than yesterday’s hardest.

What is your biggest accomplishment in your sports?

Playing hard enough to be targeted.

What one or two things do you currently do in your training that are keys to your success?

Pray and persevere.

What would be your ultimate achievement?

Score and assist the most in a game.

What is your biggest challenge, and what do you do to manage this challenge?

Moving quickly for a long period of time.  Drink lots of water and never give up.

Do you have any “before game rituals?”

Pray that God will help me do my best and that my game will bring Him glory.

What is your game day diet like?

Pretty normal, but before a game I drink lots of water and a gatorade.

Do you have any recommended resources to  share (books, seminars, websites, coaches)?

Family is the greatest support. Ask your coaches for  pointers.

Have you experienced a breakthrough, and if so, what led to it?

Making a point to work harder with a desire to do better.

What was the best advice you were ever given?

Do what you love. Never give up. Work hard.

Do you have a saying/Bible verse or motto that you live your life by?

Matt. 19:16 with god all things are possible.

People who influenced me the most/Why?

My family because they know me at my best and worst. They know how to tell me what I need to hear.

What does the team talk about before games?

We talk about how we can do this. Give 110%.

What is the team Chemistry like in the locker room?

We all care about each other and keep up on each other’s daily lives.

What do you think is the key to team success?

Everyone gives their best and wants everyone else to succeed.

What does being part of the team mean to you?

Having a support system that pushes you to better yourself.

Has playing sports helped you in school?

Yes. It has taught me to push myself.

How has soccer affected your life?

It has shown me that I am the only one who can set limits on myself.

How do you deal with a loss?

Talk through my frustration.

How do you celebrate a win?

Dinner of my choice with my family.

Post high-school plans?

Work as staff at Shepherd’s Fold Ranch during summers.  Finish gen eds at TCC next Fall.  Complete a Hospital Admin degree at OSU.

My pet peeve?

Probably smacking and passive aggressiveness in texting.

What you’ll miss least (or most) about high school?

Least = not being in control of my schedule.  Most = Having the same people and teachers.
