West Houston Thunder advance to World Series with a 6-0 win
over Tulsa NOAH Jaguars.
The winner of this game would secure a spot to head to
Pensacola, Florida for the World Series. Both teams
got runners on bases during the 1st and 2nd innings but
couldn't get any runs across. In the
bottom of the 3rd with 2 outs the Thunder got some big hits
and a batter reach on an error to tally up 6 runs. The
Jags continued to get runners on base but couldn't bring any
across the plate. Throughout the game they left 10 runners
on base (7 in scoring position). Joe Sabatini had two of the
seven hits for the Jags. There were 11 strikeouts by
Jaguars, six were on called third strike. Other than the 3rd
inning it was a really good game and the Jags could have won
the game.
Sam Brownwood started for the Jags. He retired the 1st two
batters of the game on strikeouts. He allowed 6 runs, 4
earned. John Tyree relieved in the 3rd and pitched a great
outing, allowing 4 hits, no runs, and 3 strikeouts.

The Jags finished 2-2 in the tournament, but also tied for
5th and were really close to qualifying for the trip to
Pensacola. They played some quality baseball during the
tournament. Their sights are already set to qualify for the
World Series in Pensacola next year!
