1 st game Josh Williams Memorial
Tournament hosted by Claremore Christian, Claremore OK
vs. Shiloh Christian School, Springdale, Arkansas
The first game proved to be a tight game. Shiloh went
ahead 2-0 in the top of the 1st inning. Avery Penrod hit
a double to lead off the inning for the Jags but was
caught stealing. The Jags answered with one run in the
2nd and another in the 3rd to tie the game. The Jags
added two runs in the bottom of the 5th with Justin
Leekley's timely two run single! In the top of the 6th
Shiloh's pitcher hit a home run to pull them within one
run.. The Jags hang on to the win closing the game with
a double play after right fielder John Tyree caught a
fly ball and fired it home to get the advancing runner.
Starter Austin Ervin was the winning pitcher, pitching 6
innings, allowing 3 earned runs and striking out 3
batters. Andrew Smith recorded a save by closing out the
last inning of the game.
