Okmulgee Bulldogs cruise to 11-4 win over Tulsa
NOAH Jaguars.
Jebediah Penrod scored in the first inning putting the Jags
on top. The Bulldogs scored 2 runs in the 2nd.
Senior Michael Newsome led off the 2nd inning with a double
and advanced to 3rd on Sam Brownwood's sac fly.
Newsome tied up the Dogs on a passed ball. The
Bulldogs scored 3 runs in the 3rd to take a 5-2 lead.
Freshman Jebediah Penrod hit a 2-run homer in the 4th to
bring the jags within 5-4. It was the Jags first home
run of the year. The Bulldogs pulled away with 6 more
runs to win 11-4.
Sophomore Andrew Smith started the game and had 6 Ks but
gave up 9 hits and 7 runs with 5 of them earned.
Junior Avery Penrod came in relief allowing 4 runs (3
earned) and 4 hits with 3 Ks.
The JV Jags shut out the Okmulgee JV 9-0 as Josh Lay
allowed only 2 singles while striking out 5. Jonathan Dunbar
and Joe Sabatini pitched the 4th and 5th innings and gave up
no hits. Dunbar had an unassisted double play at 1B.
Erik Willis, Chad Weston and Andrew Smith all had doubles in
the game. Smith also had a triple. Joe Sabatini had 3 stolen
bases.
