Morris Eagles beat NOAH Jaguars 6-3 in the 3rd place game of the Mounds Tournament.
With a tournament 3rd
place finish on the line the Jags failed to come through.
The Eagles went ahead in the first inning with 2
unearned runs. The Jags answered with one run after Jebediah
Penrod reached on a double and scored on Justin Leekley's
sacrifice fly. The Eagles added another run in the 2nd, and
3 ore in the 4th to take a 6-2 lead. The Jags were
able to score one more compliments of errors by the Eagles,
but couldn't dig out of the hole leaving a total of 8 men on
base throughout the game.
Four Jaguars had two hits a piece: Jebediah Penrod, Justin
Leekley, Parker McDaniel, and Avery Penrod. Justin Leekley
had 2 RBIs in the game.
Andrew Smith started the game and pitched a complete game.
He allowed six runs, none of which were earned. He gave up
only 4 hits (one double and 3 singles), walking 2 , two hit
by pitch, and 3 strike outs. The Jags committed 7
errors.
