Holland Hall Dutchman beat
NOAH Jaguars 16-5 on a frigid Friday afternoon. The
Jags record is even at 1-1 on the season.
Austin Ervin was the starting pitcher and took the loss.
Andrew Smith pitched 1 1/3 innings in relief. The two
pitchers combined for only 6 earned runs as the defense gave
up 6 errors.
The Jags fell behind 5-0 after two innings but came back
with 4 runs to make it 5-4 after 4 1/2 innings. The
Dutch put a crooked number 5 on the scoreboard in the
bottom half of the 4th inning and 5 more runs in the 6th
inning to cruise to a 15-6 victory at home.
Justin Leekley and Avery Penrod each had RBI doubles.
Sammy Brownwood had an 2-RBI single. Avery Penrod and
John Tyree finished the day with 2 hits a piece.

Holland Hall JV beat the NOAH JV 10-6. Josh Lay led
the JV with 2 hits. Joe Sabatini had 4 stolen bases
and Logan Luttrell had 3 stolen bases.
Chad Weston had an RBI single. The JV Jags used 4 pitchers
with Josh Lay getting the start and loss. Jonathan
Dunbar, Zac Cox and Joe Sabatini all got some time on the
mound.
The NOAH Jaguars play at Cascia Hall on Saturday 3/8 at 1:00
p.m. JV plays at 3:00 p.m.
